But for Cheryl Fisk, winning the title of Miss Durham Central Central has been a worthwhile experience. The annual Miss CNE Pageant Pageant was one of Cheryl's last duties as Miss Durham. King Gardens Earns Victory Over Ajax On August 8th, 1982, the Bowmanville King Garden Restaurant Soccer team travelled to Ajax to the Community Centre, to meet the Ajax Warriors Soccer Club. The previous meeting between these two teams gave Bowmanville a 2-0 victory, but Ajax began this game very strongly and took the lead after only four minutes after a series of defensive lapses by the Bowmanville team. Bowmanville gradually began to make a comeback with midfield players Billy Billingham and Jim Pocock continually pushing upfield. Their hard work paid off after 28 minutes when Jim Pocock headed in a corner from Billy Billingham. Bowmanville further increased increased their lead in the 78th minute after Billy Billingham had a fine run and a good shot on goal.
