The local team performed extremely well as the 24 member squad set 4 individual regional records and 5 relay records at the meet. In all, the team performance performance was strong enough to set 15 team records. (5 relay and 10 individual). These strong performances allowed the team to place second at the meet to the winning host team from Port Hope. It is interesting interesting to note that the Port Hope team was swimming with approximately twice the number number of members. Four local swimmers came home with individual age group championship medals. Greg Wells won the 8 and under boys, Jason Pawley tied in the boys 9 and 10, Julie Wells took the girls 11 and 12, and Jayne Stult won the Girls 13 and 14 age group. The Regional records set at the meet were: 9 and 10 Girls backstroke Deanna Jones 20.0 secs., 11 and 12 Girls back- stroke Julie Wells 40. 2 secs., 11 and 12 Girls Ind.
