Oakville posted a 3-2 mark at the Burlington Golden Horseshoe competition, then reached the semifinals of the Bell New Year's Invitational tournament in Barrie. In the Burlington event, Oakville fell 4-2 to AjaxPickering, downed the host Eagles 6-2, dropped a 6-0 deci sion to Halton, blanked Amherst, N.Y. 5-0 and defeated Central Ontario 6-4. Goal-scorers for the Rangers included Brian Keatings, Matthew Spencer, Luke Derango, Tyler Cormier, Ben Bernier, Dallas Taylor, Andrew Burns and Cole Buchan.
