34 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday January 13, 2006 Celebrate Valentine Day at Cupids Against Cancer fundraiser The annual fundraising event Cupids Against Cancer takes place Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Oakville Conference Centre. More than 300 guests are expected to enjoy dinner, dancing to live music by rhythm-and-blues band Moria's Boys, gourmet din ner, silent auction, prize raf fle, casino games and much more. Organizers say Cupids Against Cancer makes for a perfect Valentine's night out that benefits others at the same time. The event was first held February 2004 a mere week after the death of 17-year old Katy McDonald as a way to "put action behind the loss" and raise $10,000 as well. In 2005, $15,000 was raised. Tickets cost $60 each in advance online ($70 at the door) or $30 for students (not available online) and can be obtained by visiting www.cupidsagainstcancer.co m.
