Nom ination forms can be obtained through the Oakville Chamber of Commerce or are available online at www.oakvillerotary.org. Nominations are open to all Oakville companies that have been in existence for two or more years. "If you know of companies here in Oakville that are provid ing outstanding service to cus tomers and suppliers, or who are excellent employers, we want to hear about it," says Greg Duffy, Co-Chair of this year's awards. "People can nominate as many companies as they like. Judging by the number of high quality nominations we had last year, we are very fortunate to have an active and vibrant business com munity here in Oakville," he says. Jointly supported by the Rotary Club of Oakville West and the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, the awards recognize local businesses for the invalu able contribution they make to the com m unity's economic development. At the same time, the program is also a fu n d raiser, for the Oakville Rotary Clubs' youth pro grams. Last year over $40,000 was raised to support the Rotary's youth programs which include scholarship and bursaries for academic and community excel lence in Oakville public and Catholic secondary schools. There are five main categories for the awards: Entrepreneur of the Year; Manufacturer of the Year; Retailer of the Year; Service Provider of the Year; and Tourism/Hospitality Provider of the Year. The gala evening to honour the recipients of these fine awards will be held at Carmen's Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre on April 6. Gala tickets go on sale later this month.
