UBC's commitment was sparked by a $2 mil lion donation from Bruce Birmingham of Oakville, a former Scotiabank president and UBC graduate. Birmingham's gift, with a co-investment of $2 million from UBC, will serve as the catalyst to help the Sauder School of Business establish a new, revital ized learning facility to house the Bachelor of Commerce program. He was appoint ed vice-chairman and member of the board of directors in 1992 and served as president and director of Scotiabank from 1995 until his retirement in 2 0 0 2 ^ Birmingham received a Master of Business Administration degree from UBC in 1971, and holds an undergraduate degree from Sir George Williams University as well as an Honourary Doctorate of Law from the University of Western Ontario. Class Environmental Assessment Study Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) Watermain, Sanitary Forcemain and Sewer Town of Oakville The Regional Municipality of Halton has carried out a Class Environmental Assessmnet (EA) to determine the preferred routes of the watermain, sanitary forcemain and sewer on Dundas Street (Regional Road 5), within the project limits as shown in the map. The study was carried out in coordination with the proposed widening of Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) and Sixteen Mile Creek Bridge Improvements Project. The preferred alternative identifies the route location of the watermain, sanitary forcemain and sewer within the north side of Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) Right-of-Way. The preferred method for the crossing of Sixteen Mile Creek identifies a twin forcemain on the proposed Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) Bridge Structure and the installation of the watermain by tunnelling under Sixteen Mile Creek. The study was conducted in compliance with Schedule B of Municipal Class Environment Assessment (June 2000) process. A Public Information Centre was held jointly with the widening of Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) and Sixteen Mile Creek Bridge Improvements Project. A Schedule B Environmental Screening Report has been prepared to document the planning process, the assessment of alternatives, public and review agency consultation, an assessment of the impacts of the proposed project, and identification and mitigation of adverse impacts.
