Officers were called to the area of Henderson Road and Hwy. 25 at around 8:30 a.m., to help with the round up. One officer had been driving in the area when the incident took place and became aware of what was happening when a cow ran out in front of his cruiser. Police blocked Hwy. 25 in both directions and assisted the farmer in guiding the animals back to their field. Staff Sgt. Chris Clarke put information out on social media warning residents driving in the area to be careful. "A vehicle hitting a cow could be fatal for the driver," said Clarke. Police used their cruisers to help guide the cattle and block their way when they attempted to wander. Clarke said these cows were quite docile and compliant, and returned home without incident.
