The local utility received the David Ellis Award, named for 18-year-old Oakville resident David Ellis who was fatally injured in a workplace accident at an Oakville bakery on his second day on the job. The award honours a company that has demonstrated leadership and commitment in providing a safe workplace by encouraging worker participation and communication at all levels of the workforce.
