DearEditor: This is in response to a recent news story con- cerning CN Rail's announcement regarding its proposed intermodal facility in the area of Bri- tannia Road and Lower Base Line. The facility is expected to operate 24/7 with as many as 1,500 trucks coming and going daily. I believe this will have a major impact on our community and the surrounding infrastructure, all of which detrimental. l have personally written MP Lisa Raitt voicing my objections and I would strongly urge readers to do likewise. Proposed intemrodal facility concerns reader Dear Editor: I’m deeply saddened at the sudden loss of my dear friend and colleague, Max Khan. After experiencing flu-like symptoms for the past several days, Max succumbed to complica- tions arising from pneumonia. He was a beloved community leader and a remarkable man who worked tirelessly as a respected trial lawyer and devoted Oakville councillor. I got to know Max personally during the time he spent working on both of my campaigns. He was a dynamic leader whose strength, con- ï¬dence and integrity were an integral part of the Oakville and Halton communities. We will all miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with the Khan fam- ily during this difï¬cult time. Khan was dynamic leader, says MPP Réaders’ Comer Indira Naidoo-Harris MPP Ha/ton A.D.
