September 1920 The joint committee on the proposed Milton and four townships soldiers' monument, to be erected in Milton, met at the town hall on Tuesday evening. Members who had inspected monuments elsewhere reported on designs and expen- diture. No definite objective was named, but $10,000 was suggested (Oakville’s cost $3,500). The sub committees were instructed to at once open subscription lists or, in the townships, apply for municipal grants if they prefer that method. The expenditure will de- pend on the success of the sub committees. Citizens of Milton may expect to be canvassed in the near future and a liberal response is ex- pected so that the monument may be worthy of the county. Mr. Hutchinson, of the firm of G.W.
