Presented by President’s Choice and the OLG, the Pan Am Games Torch Relay will run over 41 days and in- clude 3,000 torchbearers covering an average distance of 200 metres. Milton native Donna Coulter has been se- lected to be a Pan Am torch- bearer in the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/ Para- pan Games. Coulter was se- lected through the Ontario Lot- tery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation’s 'Pass it Ontario Program’, which gives Ontarians the opportunity to be a Pan Am torchbearer. A previous Mil- ton Citizen of the Year Award winner, Coulter said she couldn’t be more ex- cited about the opportunity. "As a breast cancer survivor, I am starting a new chapter in my life â€" what an incredible way to begin my journey," she said in a media release. The Milton Chamber of Commerce was invited by the OLG to make the torchbearer selection. Chamber President Lesley Mansï¬eld said Coul- ter was chosen because she embod- ies the core characteristics of the torch relay â€"â€" community, celebra- tion, participation and pride. "Donna is a champion in our com- munity who signiï¬es the spirit of a Pan Am torchbearer as a dedicated volunteer in the town of Milton over the past 60 years," she said in the re- lease. Coulter has been heavily involved with United Way Milton, the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary and count- less other community causes over the years.
