Appleby College, representing the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association, won gold and bronze medals for Oakville. The Oakville independent school won CISAA rugby titles in under-14 boys' D2, junior boys' D1 and varsity boys' D1 rugby. The school also won conference championships in varsity girls' softball and soccer. The rst team to bring home a CISAA title was the U14 boys rugby team, which defeated Greenwood College School 55-12 in the championship game on May 25. The varsity girls' softball team defeated St. Clements 10-7 the same day to claim another CISAA crown. The varsity girls' soccer team edged Villanova College 4-3 for another Appleby College title on May 27 on home turf. The next day, the junior boys' D1 rugby team blanked Crescent School 31-0 for one title and the varsity boys' rugby team followed with a 20-7 win against St. Andrew's College for the rst CISAA varsity boys' rugby championship in 30 years. Angels bounce back from loss to Klassics The Oakville Angels under-10 girls' softball team split a pair of games in recent Peel Halton Girls Softball Association play. After suffering a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Kitchener Klassics, the Angels rebounded to defeat the Waterloo Ghosts 8-6. In the Kitchener game, the Klassics broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fth inning with a two-out, two-run single. Oakville loaded the bases in Oakville bounced back against Waterloo, scoring four runs in the second inning to take the lead for good. Nikki Cataford stroked her rst hit of the season in the big inning while Sloane Fortin knocked in the winning run in the fth inning. Almost every Angels player scored a run in the victory.
