Following a short illness, Rupert Charles Duffield, Paton Street, Grimsby, died Wednesday last at Hamilton General Hospital, in his 60th year.

Born in Mount Forest on September 4, 1888, he had been a resident here for several years and an employee of Firestone Rubber Co.

His wife, the former Clara Barnim, predeceased him in 1942.

Surviving, besides two daughters, Mrs. Lyle Luey, at home, and Mrs. Harry Fredland, of Timmins, are four sons, Earle, of Kirkland Lake; Keith, of Kitchener; Howard, of Grimsby; Grant, in England; also four brothers, Cecil of Deseronto; Milton, of Mount Forest; Allen, of Kitchener; Harold, of Sudbury, and a sister, Mrs. George McGregor, of Walkerton.

The deceased gentleman had over four years' service in the First Great War, serving with the Fourth Division Signallers.

Funeral services were conducted from the Stonehouse Funeral Home on Friday afternoon by Rev. Leonard A. Griffith. Interment was in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Earl, Keith, and Howard Duffield, Lyle Luey, Wm. Ryford and Wm. Boettger.
