Six Nations Personals (cont'd) We had a very appreciative letter from Mrs. Bernice (Staats) Krac, Toronto. Bernice sends congratulations, via Tekawennake, to her aunt Lillian Staats, Buffalo, N.Y. on her retirement, also to cousin Miss Hilda Hill, R. 6 Hagersville on her newly built cosy home. May we also add our congratulations to these very worthy Six Nations ladies. Rev. Arthur Lewis, Waterdown, St. James United Church was a guest on Sunday of Rev. and Mrs. K. Welch. Dr. and Mrs. Peter Young, Ottawa, and Mr. Brian Young, Reading, Berks, England, were the weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Jamieson. Brian left for his home in England on Tuesday, after a two-weeks visit in Canada. Mrs. Ervin Smith, Sour Springs, Mrs. Wilfred Smith and Miss Marilyn Smith spent several days with relatives in Buffalo, N.Y. last week. Mr. Carlton L. Froman, Hannon, Ont. and one of our contributors, was a visitor to the Reserve on Sunday. Mr. Steve Smith, Sour Springs, returned to St. Jeromes College, Kitchener, last week. The St. Johns Ladies Guild catered at the Martin-King wedding reception last Saturday. The Anglican Church Women held their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. S.A. Anderson last Tuesday, Sept. 10th. The next A.C.W. meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Mary Monture. Mrs. S.A. Anderson returned home on Monday Sept. 9th, after a week's visit with Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Cathy, Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Thos. Anaquod, Skidegate Reserve near Vancouver, B.C. is the guest of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Vanevery. Mr. Anaquod is on a speaking tour for Bahias. He spoke in Toronto on Sunday and at the Ohsweken Grill on Monday evening. Mr. Anaquod returns to Vancouver shortly. Mr. Peter Vanevery Jr. Sudbury, is on a two weeks vacation with his parents. Mrs. Lorna Smith, Sour Springs, is taking physio-therapy treatments for a whiplash injury which occurred when her car was rammed from behind. Miss Marilyn Smith, x-ray technologist of Norfolk General Hospital, returned to duty on Monday after a three weeks vacation. Mr. & Mrs. Phil Peters moved into their beautiful new home on the Ohsweken highway, last Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Dufferin Davis are moving into their spacious new split-level home, Ohsweken, this week. Mr. & Mrs. Clabren (Bud) Monture and family are moving into their new abode on Delaware line this week. Congratulations to those progressive folks on their beautiful new homes, a great lift to our Reserve. The Six Nations Benevolent Society held a successful Turkey Supper at the Community Hall, Ohsweken, last Friday evening. Miss Sharon Vanevery is taking a guidance course at B.C.I. on Saturday mornings from 8:00 A.M. to noon, beginning Sept. 21 and ending on May 3rd. Mr. Roger Hill, a 1968 graduate of Teacher's College, is teaching at No. 3 SS. The R.C.M.P. completed their moving operations from the Ohsweken Barracks last Saturday. Corporal G. Marshall has been transferred to Brampton, Ont. Miss Joanne Jamieson, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl C. Jamieson, has left to join the American Navy Women's division. Joanne is stationed at Bainbridge, Md. After many years absence Mr. Cecil Johnson, Buffalo, N.Y. was a recent visitor on the Reserve. Mr. Wilfred Smith spent last weekend at his home, Sour Springs. We are pleased to report that Mr. Smith's health has greatly improved.
