Cards were signed for her and another Past President, Mary Townsend, who is recuperating from a recent illness. District Director, Mary McCauley, brought several items of importance to be considered at the convention in Trenton, June 6â€"8. She mentioned some upcoming changes in insurance, membership fees and refunds, constitution changes, and urged delegates to be prepared to vote on resolutions at the convention. At this juncture in the meeting, Kathryn Scott made a presentation of the Certificate of Merit to Doris Potter (in absentia). She spoke of Doris being a deserving member, having been president and also a faithful director of this area for many years and very eligible for this honour. (The certificate was delivered to Mrs. Potter following the meeting.) The Grades 3 and 4 of Lansdowne. Public School, under the capable direction of Mrs. Michie and Mrs. Bater, provided a variety of songs from their Spring Festival Animal Dance program. Some of the numbers were "When the Hippos Crash the Dance," and "There will be no Hippos at the Dance" solo by Owl, and "Hail to You, Animal Zoo" solo by Turtle. The children's enthusiasm during their presenta tion demonstrated their enjoyment in singing. The pupils and instructors were thanked by Mrs. Doreen DeWolfe.
