PEOPLE OUR CONCERN) E1£HN.ANI)IHSTRR3T COOPERATHHE NURSERX'flSHOOL During the month of February, the teachers worked with the children on the themes of Valentines and Opposites. A Valentine's Day Party was a treat for all, and "Backwards Day", part of the exploration of Opposites, was a great success, with some youngsters arriving at school with §v_erything on backwards! Uncooperative weather forced the postponement of a scheduled skating day, but the children enjoyed a toboggani /sledding outing near the end of the month. An impromptu excursion to a frozen "pond" in a nearby field was a highlight for the senior class. The children found playing on the ice irresistibly fun, and discovered unexpectedly early signs of spring. The themes for March will be Canada, and Easter. The school will be closed for the March Break. Nursery School parents are getting prepared for their final fundâ€"raising effort for this school year. Creamâ€"filled Easter eggs, made in Lanark of the highest quality ingredients, will be sold at $1.50 each and can be purchased individually or in boxes of 10. They will be available from Monday, March 19 until Easter from any Nursery School parent, several area grocery stores, and from: the school. We are sure that members of the public will find it easy to support this fundraising venture. Please - won't you plan on purchasing your Easter eggs from us? The Nursery School is presently conducting / an assessment of the need for Before and After School Day Care in the Elgin area by means of a survey being disudbuted through South Crosby Pubfic SchooL If you are interested in Before and After School Day Care, we need your input. If you would like to fill out a survey but do not have a child attending South Crosby Public School, please call the Nursery School at 359-5166 on bAonday afternoons, VVednesdays or Fridays. We are particularly appeafing to parents of pre-schoolers to consider whether or not they may need such a service in the next few years. We also need interested members of the community to volunteer to assist us in this project. Please give us a call. .
