12 NORTH LEEDS LANTERN F7 '” ST. PETER'S A.C.W. The March meeting was held on March 7, at the home of Vera Bennett. The meeting opened with the hymn "Rock of Ages" which was followed by prayer. Members then shared in the reading of John 19. We read and discussed various passages which prophesied what was to happen surrounding Jesus' crucifixion. Thank you cards were read from the Seeley's Bay Lions, Miriam Houghton and Gecrge and Mary Gates. A letter from Mrs. Eunice Martin, Area Chairman, was read. Mary Dean brought to our attention that we have not yet sent our Fair Share. It was moved by Mary Dean, seconded by Jenny Gocdier, that we send $6.00 per member. We discussed having meetings with other A.C.W.s. Mary Dean is to contact the other presidents. It was preferred to have a summer meeting with St. Paul's, Elgin A.C.W. Mary Dean updated us on our Foster Child. We have received a picture and some information. Terry Lafferty will put both in the Parish Notebook. As well, each A.C.W. member will be receiving a copy of her picture. All members agreed to postpone our Secret Pal draw until next month when more members are present. The annual A.C.W. meeting will be held on April 22 at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Collins Bay. The Thank Offering, an offering of thanks from all Anglican women, will be taken and given at that time. Offerings may be given to Ann Morris. The meeting closed with prayer, grace and a light lunch. The April meeting will be at the home of Darlene Lake. Mabel Standen served a lovely lunch, assisted by Etta Glover. SEELEY'S BAY U.C.W. The March meeting was held on Tuesday March 7 in the Christian Education room. Because of the cold weather and ice we had a smaller attendance than usual. Hilda Simpson opened the meeting with prayer and gave a card report. Jean Collinson opened the devotional with the hymn "The Church has one Foundation," and gave a reading from Luke 24, verses 1-12. For the roll call, everyone had something green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Joyce Simpson reported on the Presbyterial which was held in Kingston. It was very interesting. Our guest speaker was Rev. Darrell Bell. We enjoyed hearing about all the different places he visited in his ministry. The meeting Closed with prayer. Everyone enjoyed the lunch that followed. nu.
