President Orvin Martin welcomed all and asked them to join in singing "O Canada" and then "Happy Birthday" to Rita Jones. Margaret Keith, Secretary, read the minutes of the July meeting which were approved. Mary Davies suggested that a letter of thanks be sent to Mike Wills for making us such a splendid plaque to record the names of those who have served as president. Regret was expressed concerning the death of one of our former presidents, Fred Stewart. Orvin told us about the Memorial Service held at the funeral home by Legion members from Seeley's Bay. Orvin also thanked Ernie Grigsby for purchasing a dozen packs of new cards for the club and asked the treasurer to reimburse him. Valera then gave the treasurer's report which was approved. A suggestion was made that. we hold an open house for all seniors in the area sometime in the near future and that notices be inserted in the church bulletins. The meeting closed with the Benediction, followed by delicious refreshments and games.
