12 NORTH LEEDS IANTERN 3m 1989 '11 Bryan and Rochelle Lake. SEELEY'S BAY SENIORS 17 members and one visitor attended the August meeting of Seeley's Bay Seniors. President Orvin Martin welcomed all and asked them to join in singing "O Canada" and then "Happy Birthday" to Rita Jones. Margaret Keith, Secretary, read the minutes of the July meeting which were approved. Mary Davies suggested that a letter of thanks be sent to Mike Wills for making us such a splendid plaque to record the names of those who have served as president. Regret was expressed concerning the death of one of our former presidents, Fred Stewart. Orvin told us about the Memorial Service held at the funeral home by Legion members from Seeley's Bay. Orvin also thanked Ernie Grigsby for purchasing a dozen packs of new cards for the club and asked the treasurer to reimburse him. Valera then gave the treasurer's report which was approved. A suggestion was made that. we hold an open house for all seniors in the area sometime in the near future and that notices be inserted in the church bulletins. The meeting closed with the Benediction, followed by delicious refreshments and games. JOHN'S ACW The July meeting, held at the home of Jean Roantree, opened with singing of the hymn, "I Know that My '. Redeemer Lives" and Denise Gordanier read a poem, "Hope." The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Roll Call was answered by eight members. We welcomed visitors Elaine NOW AVAILABLE AT Ruth Ann Glover read the scripture. Denise gave the treasurer's report and the June minutes were read and approved. We received a certificate of appreciation from Donna Dean, R.D.H.S., for our donation to the visit of the Soviet students. Several matters were discussed, followed by a lovely lunch served by Jean assisted by Denise. The August meeting was held at the home of Eleanor Wills. The meeting opened with the Also available : Lord's Prayer, followed Ly the Guild prayers. Mabel Standen read the Scripture, St. Mark 3:1-12. Roll call was answered by 6 members. We were pleased to have Hope and Laura Wills as our visitors. The July minutes were read with one correction. Denise Gordanier gave the Treasurer's report. Collection for the month of August was taken. A get-well card was signed and sent to Mr. Elswood Bryan. Our ACW will have a preserve and bake table at our October Arts and Crafts. The September meeting will be held at Denise Gordanier's home. Eleanor Wills closed the meeting with Grace and served a lovely lunch, assisted by Hope and Laura Wills. ST.
