The annual May Luncheon meeting with members of six U.C.W. groups attending, was held in Olivet United Church May 3, 1989. All present were most tolerant and gracious of the many inconveniences due to the redecorating of our Church sanctuary. Following lunch, the guest speaker, Rev. Walter Hegadorn, was introduced by Amy Bracken, a life-time acquaintance. The very interesting slides taken by Rev. Hegadorn and Mrs. Hegadorn during their visits to Egypt and their first-hand personal comments, were enjoyed by all. Their love of the people and concern for their needs, in spite of many dangerous situations, was most evident. A small gift and the offering were accepted with assurance that it would be used for a worthy project of Rev. Hegadorn's church. Following adjournment, Olivet members held a short business meeting, then a quick cleanâ€"up in the kitchen when all felt an enjoyable day came toaclose. ‘ Hudson read ST. LUKE'S A.C.W.
