Halton Police will hold their annual Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day to give the public the opportunity to get rid of expired or unwanted medications. It takes place Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. You can drop off old and unused prescription medication safely and confidentially at one of several locations throughout the region: · HRPS headquarters, 1151 Bronte Rd., Oakville; · 10 Division police station, 315 Queen St., Acton; · Halton Hills Town Hall, 1 Halton Hills Dr., Halton Hills; · Milton Sports Centre (rear lot), 605 Santa Maria Dr., Milton; · Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd., Oakville; · City of Burlington Operations Centre, 3330 Harvester Rd., Burlington. Halton police also have prescription drug drop-off boxes at every station in the region and have collected a large amount of prescription drugs through the program. The following are the most common prescription drugs collected between June 2015-April 2016: 2,500 Oxycodone pills; 750 morphine pills; 40 millilitres of liquid Morphine; 2,350 Lorazempam pills; 260 Hydromorphone pills ­ 15 ml hydromorphone ­ 390 codeine pills; 140 ml of liquid codeine; and 115 used fentanyl patches.
