Mikey, the Congo African Gray parrot, went missing April 12. The 12-year-old exotic bird flew out of his Orchard community home in the Appleby Line and Upper Middle Road area towards Bronte Creek. He was last seen Sunday (April 17) near the Cineplex theatre complex at Burloak Drive and the QEW area on the Oakville and Burlington border. Fatin Fouad says Mikey talks and loves to dance to the music of Buffalo Soldier. "We got him when he was seven years. He speaks three languages; he speaks English and a kind of Chinese language." She said his wings were due for a clip, but that when he flew away his wings were full grown. "My kids miss him too much. My daughter is crying every day because she is missing him very badly, and praying every night for his safe return." She said Mikey belongs to her older daughter, who is studying in England. "We didn't even tell her yet about his flying away, so we are hoping someone can help return him before she comes back next month."
