R0013774590 l Obituaries ADAMS, Robert (Bob) Alexander On Wednesday, April 20, 2016, Robert passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 93. Born December 5, 1922 in Worthing, Sussex, England, Bob knew he wanted to be a sailor at 13 and joined the Royal Navy at the tender age of 15. During his 25 years of loyal service Robert fought in the Second World War and continued on to enjoy his time seeing the world. Bob is survived by his dear wife Joy, his younger brother Jack, his loving daughters, Julia and Karen and stepdaughters, Valerie and Hazel. Bob also leaves behind his five beloved granddaughters, Emma, Heather, Britt, Signy and Olivia, and many loving nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his first wife of 54 years, Eileen, as well as his mother, Leonora (Queenie) and his sister, June. Bob will be remembered for his love of travel and adventure, his dry sense of humor, his great sense of occasion and his generous and loving spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will forever be in their hearts. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place in Worthing, UK. CROLL, Jim Passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. James William Croll, of RR#2 Priceville and formerly of Oakville, at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Jo-Anne and the late Carolle. Loving father of Martina and her husband Norman MacLeod of Holstein and Adam Croll and his wife Cara of Durham. Cherished grandfather of Jenna, Connell, Calder, Cameron and Lindsay. Dear son of Robert and the late Quennie Croll. Survived by his sisters Mary Ann and her husband Keith Cassey and Bonnie and her husband Chuck LeBlanc. Remembered by Jo-Anne's children; Megan, Lee (Justin) Cross, Amy (Mark Moller), Paul and Cody. Jim served as a firefighter with the Town of Oakville for over 30 years until his retirement. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Homestead Resort, RR#4 (263530 Southgate Road 26), Durham on Friday, April 22, 2016 with a service starting at 11 a.m. followed by a reception until 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made by contacting the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham at 519-369-3837. l Obituaries KIRTON, Pauline (nee Polanski) Loving and much loved mother, grandmother and sister, suddenly on Monday April 18, 2016 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Leslie. Pauline will be much missed by her son Mark (Lisa) and their children Sarah, Adam and Taylor, and her daughter Jo-anne (Kevin) and their children Nicole, Sean, Jeff, Monica and Eric. Pauline will be sorely missed by her sister Susan (Chuck) Beer of Vancouver and her brother Gerry of Regina. Pauline's friends will remember a woman who valued her family above all things and as the baker of the world's greatest cinnamon buns. Thanks to the staff at Post Inn Village who made her last year so joyful. May she now be laughing and square dancing among the stars.
