In terms of the crime rate for individual crimes, impaired driving is one of the few that rose in 2015 over 2014. The number of incidents per 100,000 population in 2015 was 84, up from 78 in 2014, and a five-year high. The crime rate for almost all other crimes was virtually the same as in 2014 or less. The biggest drop was for frauds with the rate being 162 incidents per 100,000 in 2015 compared to 194 in 2014. The crime rate for thefts of all kinds was 632, down from 713 in 2014. In terms of volume, provincial offence notices (PON) for driving or traffic infractions continue to constitute the majority of officers' work.
