In partnership with the Rotary Club of Oakville West (RCOW), the Oakville Chamber of Commerce hosted the gala at the Oakville Conference Centre. The event, which had a sold-out crowd of 573 people, celebrated the contributions of local companies and donated a portion of ticket sales to RCOW's youth programs. "Every year there are all these new businesses, that most of us have not heard of, that are doing amazing things in the town and they're bringing economic vibrancy. It's wonderful," said Kerry Colborne, Oakville Chamber chair. "We also get the opportunity to raise a lot of scholarship dollars for the Rotary fund. It's a winwin for the town." Tough decisions to make As head of the OABE judging panel, Colborne said selecting winners is always difficult, as some categories this year were "very, very tough." With 55 nominees, recipients were selected in nine categories -- Large Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Professional Services Provider of the Year, The Morris Mercanti The Oakville Chamber of Commerce held its annual Oakville Awards for Business Excellence Gala at the Oakville Conference Centre Wednesday, March 23.
