A mainstay in Oakville, Clarke volunteered for 22 years at the Fare Share food bank, retiring from his post in 1992. The couple married in England and moved to Canada a year later, settling into a home in Oakville, where they still reside. They now have four children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
