"Blondie," is keeping a healthy distance from humans. The coyote, dubbed the "OT coyote" due to its regular appearances at Oakville Trafalgar High School (OTHS), had raised concerns among the community in recent months as it had been approaching people in southeast Oakville. During a January coyote information meeting, Laura Mackasey, an Oakville and Milton Humane Society (OMHS) animal protective services manager, said this coyote was so used to being fed by students at the high school, it could be found there at 12:30 p.m. (lunch hour) almost daily. Donna Doyle of the Town of Oakville's Environmental Policy Department said she also had reports of some residents driving near the coyote, honking their horn and then throwing food to the animal when it approached. see Hazing on p.7 Bronte Maple Syrup Festival is a winner by John Bkila Oakville Beaver Staff The sap is starting to ow at Bronte Creek Provincial Park for its 2016 Maple Syrup Festival.
