During last week's council meeting, Ward 5 Town and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll said representatives from Toronto Pearson (formerly the Greater Toronto Airports Authority) would be present to answer resident questions during the April 7 meeting, A plane flies overhead in Oakville. A public information meeting on air traffic will be held at Oakville Town Hall on April 7. | Oakville Beaver file photo which will run from 7-9 p.m. in Town Hall's South Atrium. Representatives from NAV Canada, the private, non-share capital corporation that owns and operates Canada's civil air navigation service, has also been invited. Residents can ask those present about local air traffic or other issues related to airport operations that might interest them. Toronto Pearson is the operator and manager of Canada's largest and busiest airport. This study examined various transportation issues in the College Park neighbourhood. Public concerns around traffic congestion, vehicle speeds and safety were raised in the study area, which led the town to undertake this study. The study specifically focuses on the intersection of Sixth Line and McCraney Street and on transportation issues around the various schools in the area. The study area does not include Sheridan College, the Oakville Place shopping centre, or roads under the jurisdiction of Halton Region (e.g. Trafalgar Road, Upper Middle Road, South Service Road).
