H E L P W A N T E D Man facing robbery charges by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 9 | Thursday, March 10, 2016 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Police response to a report of a robbery at a Shoppers Drug Mart, at 1011 Upper Middle Rd., Tuesday (March 8) led to the arrest of an Oakville man who faces charges in connection with the robbery and several others. Police said during Tuesday's robbery, a man entered the store and demanded prescription drugs from a store employee, who handed over a large quantity of narcotics. The suspect then fled. A police investigation ensued. Investigators also executed a search warrant at a north Oakville address and seized a large quantity of prescription painkillers, notably OxyNEO, or Oxycodone, as well as other items allegedly related to the robberies. Officers allege Tuesday's robbery is related to others that have recently been investigated, including: Feb. 21 at Brant Medical Arts Centre, Burlington; Feb. 12 at Pharma Save, Burlington; and, Jan. 28 at Shoppers Drug Mart, 1011 Upper Middle Rd., Oakville. Richard Mathers, 36, of Oakville faces four counts of robbery and wearing a disguise. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
