Richmond Hill and area Block Parents are preparing for their annual garage sale. which is their one fund raising venture of the year. Items are needed, and if you are busy cleaning out the attic. garage or basement, and have items no longer of use to you or your family, the Block Parents would like to have them for the sale. JOHN AMBULANCE The St. John Ambulance Brigade will hold a training session at Don Head Secondary School tonight (April 25) from 8 to 10 pm. All proceeds from the garage sale are used in the community to further the work of the Block Parents. A good portion of the funds is used for education in the schools. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY The Richmond Hill Horticultural _Society will meet Tuesday, May 1, at 8 pm. at the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church. The week of April 23 to 27 is Ontario Education Week and all parents of children in Oak Ridges Public School are invited to visit the school to observe the children at work. Parents of children in Kindergarten. Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Special Education may visit today, April 25 from 9:15 to 10:15 am. and from 1:20 to 2:20 pm. Those with children in Grades 4.5, and 6 including Mrs. Knight‘s class may visit from 10:45 to 11:45 am. and again from 2:45 to 3:20 pm. Parents are asked not to bring very small children with them. and are requested to leave pets at home as they tend to disturb classroom routine. BICYCLE RODEO The York Regional Police Safety Bureau will hold a bicycle rodeo at Oak Ridges P u bl i c S c h o o 1 tomorrow, April 26 from 1:15 to 3:30 pm. There will be checks of horns. brakes, fenders, reflectors. bells and safe riding procedures. This is for children in Grades 3,4,5,6 and Special Education. Stickers will be issued to those, who meet the safety requirements. Several youngsters from Oak Ridges Public School attended the County Science Fair, and two girls came back with honors. Kathy Tilsley, Grade 6 placed third with her project on leavening agents and Anne Davies, Grade 3, placed third for her project on magnets. STORY HOUR The children will meet in the library and see a film, hear a story, and visit the kindergarten class- room. Any kindergarten registrants, who have not yet attended a story hour are invited to be present at this time. Any parents, who have not yet registered children for Kin-. dergarten in Sep- tember, are invited to do so any day by dropping by the school. All children entering Kindergarten at Oak Ridges Public School in September are invited to attend a story hour at the school. The next story hour will be Wednesday. May 2 at 9:15 am.
