Sharen is the Volunteer Co-ordinator of Helpmate lnformation‘s special Volunteer Bureau and she said Volunteer Week emphasizes needs in the community as well as giving recognition to those who freely give their time. Volunteer bureau ready for big week Carl Nixon, who often sings at the Richmond lnn, will entertain local viewers Saturday, April 28 when they tune in to the 9th annual telethon for CAP. He’s only one of several singers who’ll appear live on Cable 10 for the Tuesday, April 24, Ms. Smith will bring together a number of different agencies in the region at Richmond Hill Public Library to hand out pamphlets, answer questions and tell what they expect of volunteers. Thursday, April 26, the Volunteer Bureau will hold an open house in their offices at York Central Hospital inviting people to come in, have a cup of coffee and talk to Ms. Smith about what kinds of things there are show.
