The competitors were Ed Follows, Jim Points, ‘fl‘erry Flynn, Jim Whiteman and Steve Madden. Jim and Steve gained top marks, with scores of 89 and 92 respectively. Many of Bayview’s best music students competed in the Lions Festival in Newmarket last week and fared quite well. 7 On April 27, Tasha Stephenson and Suzanne Wilkinson were awarded first place honors in the festival. Bayview had many winners on the third day of the festival as well. The senior flute trio, conâ€" sisting of Diana Cian- ciusi, Sandra Filipovich and Melody Lynden, received a mark of 96. A saxophone quartet consisting of Mark Brumwell, Steve Carter, Dave Grant and Steve Steel earned a mark of 97. Joel Starkman of Vallancliffe Road. Thornhill. has been drafting for three years. An excellent effort was made by Cathy McCready on clarinet. Recent KAP events at Bayview were a pancake breakfast and a bike-a- thon. Both events were held Sunday, and both were fairly successful. The telethon features a lot of Bayview talent, as well as local politicians and on-the-spot events around town and at Hillcrest Mall. The contest consisted of teams from as far away as Bracebridge, and the two Bayview students placed second. The Bayview team finished with no faults, but was second in the time trials.
