Nation's Postmasters Sign New Wage Pact A new labor contract was signed last week by the federal government and the Canadian Postmasters Association, repre- senting 10,000 postmasters and their assistants. ’ The contract provides for salary increases of four per cent dating from October 1, 1966, a further eightvper cent from October 1, 1967. and ang other 6% per cent from Octo- ber 1, 1968. The contract ex- pires October 1, 1969. A post office official said pay scales vary greatly accord- ing to size of post office and amount of work involved for part-time postmasters in small, rural centres.
