All are invited. A large turn out is looked for. THE Renew, AND FORMAL OPENING or 1m: Bumâ€: BRANCH RAILWAY.â€" It is now, we believe, deï¬nately settled, that the grand review of the volunteers, in connection with the railway celebration, on the opening of the branch line of rail- road into Barrie, is to take place on Wednesday. the let inst., and not Tues- day the 2011:, as was lately contemplated. A good wmking committee has charge of the atraugments lor the day, and we trust that they Will be in keeping with the occasion. \Ve believe that the volun- teers, of whom about 700 are expected to take part in the review, are to be review- ed by General Napier. C. B. The pro- gramme for the day will, we understand, be shortly announced by the committee; but we believe we don‘t err in stating, that besides the review, which, of counse, is to be the main feature of the day. that plenty of amusement will be furnished for the volunteers and others who may attend. Mr. Cumberland, as mantger at North- ern road, is lending his eflicient assist- ance to render the occassion so auspicious fir thetownâ€"one that may long ï¬nd a place in the memories of all who partict- pate in it. In the evening, General Napier and staff, and volunteer oï¬icers, together with the ofï¬cials of the county, and the members of the County Council will be entertained at a dinner, to be given in the town-hall. Altogether a greater day than we canï¬dentially anticipate has never been seen out of our large cities.â€" Barn'e Spirit of the Age, April 5. The Crown Attorney called the atten- tion of the Court to the fact that Wil- liam McDaughlin, a witness for the Crown, then sittmg Court, had been sent before the Grand Jury to give evidence, but that he was then and still is utterly unï¬t to give his testimony owing to in- toxication. The Court ordered him to be conï¬ned in the‘ gaol until 10 o’clock to-morrow, when it is echctcd he will have so far recovered as .torb‘e able to at least, say something.- The witness was then removed. ‘ I ‘ ' Richmond Hill.
