It's a symbol of safety in the workplace, and a way to empower employees and students to keep safety at the top of mind when they are at work, MySafeWork explains on its website. MySafeWork, formerly known as Our Youth at Work, is a not-for-profit organization created by Rob Ellis and his daughter Jessica Di Sabatino to raise awareness about workplace safety in memory of their son and brother, David Ellis. David died in a workplace accident at a bakery in Oaville in 1999. He was 18 years old at the time. The Jersey of Courage is one of a number of initiatives MySafeWork created in conjunction with its partners -- employers and schools across Canada -- to bring workplace safety to the forefront. MySafeWork representatives take the Canadian hockey jerseys that act as working Safety Charter documents to schools and organizations to get employees and students committed to being safe at work. So far, more than 350,000 signatures have been collected from employees and students. Recently, the jersey signed by Wynne last July made its way to Oakville Hydro.
