Health P J ' S L E N D S A P A W 35 | Thursday, February 11, 2016 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com "Connected to your Community" Get on the ice in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton (BBBS Halton) next Saturday (Feb. 20). The community organization is hosting its annual curling bonspiel, RBC Curl for Kids Sake at the Oakville Curling Club, 224 Allan St. Now in its 28th year, the event invites beginners and experienced curlers alike to participate in the popular sport while raising funds for BBBS Halton's in-school mentoring program. "Every child has a chance when they have one caring adult in their life," said BBBS Halton Executive Director Barbara Ferrone. "The curling event provides us funding Bonspiel for BBBS Halton so that we can continue finding mentors for children, to set them on the path to life-long success. We rely heavily on events such as our bonspiel and from sponsorship and community support, to provide sustainable revenue for all our mentoring programs." This year's fundraising goal is $35,000. Residents are invited to form teams of four and collect pledges or company sponsorship. Each team must raise a minimum of $500. Teams are placed based on skill level. Breakfast, lunch, snacks are included. To register, call BBBS Halton at 905-3392355 ext. 222 or visit www.bbbshalton.ca.
