Council designates February Wellspring Care Dare Month Oakville Mayor Rob Burton announced Monday (Feb. 1) at Town Hall in Council Chambers the month of February has been designated as Wellspring Care Dare Month locally. The proclamation coincides with the recognition of World Cancer Day (Thursday, Feb. 4) where the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is asking individuals and corporations in Oakville to take the Wellspring Care Dare Challenge. The campaign is a fundraiser that sees participants take on a daring challenge while raising money for cancer support programs and services offered at the Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House, 2545 Sixth Line. "With a call-to-action on World Cancer Day, Thursday, February 4, 2016, we hope to inspire the residents of Oakville to take the Wellspring Care Dare challenge and help raise much needed funds and awareness for Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House," stated a media release. Anyone interested in taking up the Wellspring Care Dare Challenge can visit www. wellspringcaredare.ca for dare ideas, inspiration and to set up their online fundraising pages. Wellspring is a network of communitybased cancer support centres offering professionally-led programs and services for men, women and children living with cancer, as well as, those who care for them.
