Around 12:45 p.m., a lone man entered the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1011 Upper Middle Rd., approached the store's pharmacy area and demanded narcotics, police said. The employees complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of drugs to the suspect, who then fled the store. No one was injured during the robbery and no weapon was seen. Halton police arrived on the scene moments later and searched the area with a police dog, but no arrests were made. The suspect is described as white and in his 40s. Oakville Mayor Rob Burton will speak in support of growing the Greenbelt in Simcoe County at a community meeting in Barrie on Saturday.
