The deceased man was found in a rear parking area near an apartment building around 9 a.m. Police responded to the scene and cordoned off the area while the investigation ensued. The dead man was 26 years old and not a resident of Oakville, according to investigators. Schools in the area were placed into hold-and-secure status for about 30 minutes, but of cers emphasized this was to prevent children from viewing the scene, as police initially covered the body until it could be removed, and not as the result of any public safety concerns.
