continued from p.13 reading their poetry against a green screen where images could be incorporated for the video's final presentation. About 100 children were pre-recorded. Their presentations will be shown in Google Docs. Of those students, 24 are staying overnight at the Morden Road elementary school to take part in sessions. A number of them will be presenting live between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. They'll be talking about the education system in Canada in German, Romanian, Russian, Hindi and French. Students tune in overnight at school for edcamp Global Classrooms Morrison, who is being helped by fellow teacher Shelli Fisico and Vice Principal Janice Bunn, said he's excited to be a part of the initiative that involves 800 classrooms from around the world and he's hoping his students will be as well. "It's one thing to sit in the classroom and do a project and present to the teacher and the other kids in the class," he said. However, because his students know they're sharing their work with a global audience, Morrison said, "it's like they work harder. They feel there's more of an application to their work." He said he hopes those students are proud of the work they've done. As for the 24 students sticking around to tune into sessions later in the evening and night, Morrison hopes they enjoy the unique learning experience. "I just want them to get excited about learning through technology from the whole world," he said. "It doesn't have to be a teacher in front of a classroom. There are different ways of learning."
