4 Six Nat ions News ( continuecl) On Saturday March 8th 1 1969 1 the Girls Gymnastics team of Hagersville Secondary School competed in the zone 2 gymnastics meet at the Cayuga High School. The interme- diate Hagersville High School team placed first in the intermediate group. But overall, the whole team placed second. Debbie Staats placed first on the balance beam. At the end of this month 1 the teams go to Niagara Falls to compete at the next meet. On Friday March 7th. Ken Jonathan of the Hagersville Secondary School attended the Ontario Wrestling Tournament at North Bay. Services at Six Nations Pentecost al Church Special interesting gospel s ervices have been arranged for young and old every night this week at the Six nat ions Pentecostal Church, Ohsweken, from March 16th. to March 23rd. with Evangelists Ell en Gamble and Hazel Sym.chych. Evangelist Joey Gilbert, !falpole Island, will speak on 1·Jednesday night March 19th. Evangelist Ellen Gamble from Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, recently returned from Holy Land, will be telling her experiences on Friday evening, March 21st. At 7:45 p.m. each evening there will be object lessons by Evangelist Hazel Syrnchych, St. Thomas. Pastor Daniel Butler. Grand River U.C. W. The March meding of the Grand River U.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs. Joyce Hill R.R. 6 1 Hagersville. Miss Dorothy Martin presided and Mrs. Gerald Beaver read the minutes. Mrs. K. Welch opened the meet ing with the devotional. The members decided to hold a Smorgasbord supper on Easter Sunday at Grand River with prices for adults ~n.50, school children $LOO and pre-schoolers free. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Orpha Mart in. Burlington Tea Mrs. Clifford Lickers and Hrs. Arnold D. Hill attended a most enjoyable tea r1;3cent-.. - ly in Burlington, at which the ,·rives of the mayor and the councillors were present. The · invitation was extended for the purpose of hearing about the Ohsweken Library project. These ladies have offered support for the library in the form of books to the extent of about 1 1 000 as well as cash donat ions. All donations are made payable to the Six Nat ions Library Fu..."l.d. Last month the sum of ~:;1. 590 was raised. Mrs. Hill speaks to two more women's groups in Toronto this week, "The American '.-/omen 's Club" and the "Soropti mist Club." Congratulations to these laJies on their initiative in raising the needed funds for the library. On March 10th. a benefit bingo game, which netted $52.00 1 was held on behalf of Mrs. Betty Bomberry, mother of the late Robert Bomberry~ On March 10th. the winner of the $100 jackpot was a Caledonia resident.
