Three artists featured at Gairloch Gardens Artist Joanna McFarland will be one of three featured artisans at the upcoming Creative Art in The Studio at Gairloch Gardens. Held at The Studio, 1306 Lakeshore Rd. E., the show will highlight the works of Sue Matichuk and Yolanda Pop. The exhibition runs Friday, Nov. 20, 9:30 a.m.-noon and a wine and cheese reception from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 21, 1-4 p.m. "I was given a brief by the curator (Yolanda Pop). She wanted the colour theme to be whites and greys," said McFarland, in a media release. "Not colours I would normally choose, but they provoked a kind of arctic feel in me which came out in my work." A non-objective painter, McFarland says she paints because she loves all art, specifically, colour, shape, movement and flow. "I paint a feeling, a mood, a sensation, a response," explained McFarland. "It's personal, mind's eye stuff. It's attitude, opinionated, biased. It's love it or hate it kind of work."
