NORSHORE SENTINEL â€" THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 1960 11 MARILYN ANN SINGLETON MARRIES RIEHARD MOHER WHITE - GARDNER WEDDING PERFORMED IN FORT WILLIAM Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, Schreiber, was the setting for the wedding of Miss1 Marilyn Ann Singleton and Mr. Richard Joseph Mo her, on September 5, at ten a.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Singleton, of Schreiber, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Moher, of Toronto, Ont. Rev. Father J. M. Cano officiated at the ceremony. Pink and white gladioli adorned the altar. John and Denis McParland, cousins of the bride, were altar boys. Mrs. Patrick Mulligan presided at the organ, and Mr. Giovanni Cebrario sang "On This Day O Beautiful Mother;" "Ave Maria" and "Oh, Jesus Thou Art Coming," during the service. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a slipper length gown of white nylon net and Chantilly lace over satin. The torso length bodice of lace had long fitted sleeves ending in points over her hands, a low pointed neckline, edged with soft folds of tulle and outlined by a wide flower embroidered with sequins and pearls. The full skirt of net had panels of lace front and back, and was worn over a hooped crinoline. An Elizabethan cap of shirred net held her two-tiered embroidered chapel veil. She wore an heirloom cross and carried a bouquet of red roses. The matron of honor, Mrs. Raoul Fournier, and bridesmaid, Ar-line Alcorn, wore identical waltz length gowns of pink organza, with embossed design. The bouffant skirts were encircled with narrow belts tied with small bows at the back. Soft folds of silk net made a rounded yoke in front, extending in deep points in back. They wore bandeaus of pink flower petals and carried Colonial bouquets of pink carnations. The bride's sisters, Linda and Diane, were flower girls. The former in pink and the latter in green full skirted frocks of silk net over crinolines and matching petticoats, squared necklines and puffed sleeves. They wore hair bands of shirred net and flowers and carried nosegays of white baby mums centred with pink roses. The wedding breakfast was held at the Schreiber Hotel for fifty guests. Mrs. Jack Corbett was dining room hostess, Barbara Madge, Geraldine Maronese and Ruth Alcorn, servitors. The bride's parents entertained at an afternoon reception at their home. Mrs. Singleton received wearing a Romance blue brocade dress, matching hat and pink, roses corsage. The groom's mother wore a navy shantung dressmaker suit, with matching ostrich feather hat and a corsage of red roses. Pouring tea were Mrs. J. B. Fournier and Mrs. James Singleton, grandmother and aunt of the bride. Mrs. R. W‘. Turner and Mrs. W. Stefurak; kitchen help, Mesdames Lloyd Walker, Neil Ross and Ivan Johnson; servitors, Misses Sharon Webb, Geraldine Maronese and Margaret Fournier. Ruth Alcorn attended the gift room and Barbara Madge the guest book. The bride's going away drees was a beige ensemble with brown accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Moher will make their home in Schreiber. Out of town guests included the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Moher, Toronto; Misses Arlene and Ruth Alcorn, Barbara Madge and Geraldine Maronese of Fort William, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Campbell of Toronto. Institute Supper Financial Success The annual Labour Day supper sponsored by the Ouimet-Dorion Women's Institute was once more a financial success. A total of 205.77 was realized from the sale of tickets. Mrs. Marie Swanson, president, was hostess for the evening and welcomed many guests from as far away as Nipigon and Fort William. Mrs. Frank Tyler was in charge of the pie table. Servitors were Mrs. Anne Watty, Mrs. Mary Tolmonen, Mrs. Rena Atkinson, Mrs. Helen Atkinson, Mrs. Margaret Gregory and Mrs. Beatrice Swanson. Kitchen staff comprised Mrs. Jean Harris, Mrs. Marie Sobko-wich, Mrs. Wilma Schaaf, Mrs. Rose Bonde, Mrs. Mae Albertson, Mrs. V. McKinley. Cleaning Wedding vows were pledged between Joyce Elizabeth Gardner and Ernest Harold White, Saturday afternoon in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Fort William. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Keith Wilcox. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gardner of Dorion, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. White, of Long Lac. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of all lace over taffeta;. The princess styled bodice featured a wide rolled collar high in the front and forming a "V" at the back. The long sleeves ended in lily points over the hands. The full skirt of lace over crinolines of taffeta featured gathered fullness sweeping to the dropping back in a bustle manner. She wore a woven crown of mohair and pearls centered with a tear drop pearl to hold her manytiered veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade of yellow roses. Miss Betty-Lou Gardner, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Joan Morris of Port Arthur, was bridesmaid. They wore identical gowns of sea foam green organdy, styled with large up were Mrs. Judy Pawluk, Mrs. Etta Renaud, Mrs.'Mary Kay, and' Mrs. Bertha Muloin. Norman Gregory and Henry McKinley looked after the water supply and tickets at the door. Winner of the turkey draw was Mrs. Jane Watty of Port Arthur. portrait collars to the waist line. Taffeta petticoats held the bouffant skirts with little girl hems. They wore petal hats to match their gowns and carried cascades of yellow ruffled carnations. Don Petney was the best man. The ushers were Richard Thompson of Geraldton and Nelson Nurse of Long Lac. A reception was held in the Dorion Hall, where the bride's mother received, wearing royal blue floral sheath dress of satin back jersey with a matching bolero. She wore black shoes and beige accessories and a corsage of red roses. The groom's mother received in a brocaded blue sheath dress with white accessories. She wore a corsage, of white roses. The three-tier wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom, was cut by the bride's aunt, Mrs. William Gardner, of Fort William. Mr. and Mrs. White left on a honeymoon to be spent in California and Vancouver, the bride choosing for the trip a suitmakers suit of light brown gabardine, tan bat trimmed with dark brown feathers, gloves and accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. On their return the couple will live in Long Lac. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. White of Long Lac, Mr. and Mrs. O. Groulx of Long Lac, Mr. and Mrs. D. Lemaire of Errelton and Mr. and Mrs. Ozak of Cleveland, Ohio. COMING EVENTS The 4-H Club of Hurkett, will hold a tea and bake sale in the Hurkett Hall, on September 17, from 2 to 5.30 p.m. A Home and School meeting will be held October 3, in the Dorion Consolidated School. The Schreiber High School Home and School Association will hold their first meeting Monday, September 19, at the Town Hall, at 8 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. A social will follow, at which parents and teachers can get acquainted.
