Power to approximately 1,800 homes in Halton Hills was cut for about an hour on Monday evening after vandals targeted a hydro facility near the Third Line. Workers arrived at the scene to find that a large tree had been cut down with a chainsaw, severing power lines and leaving residents in the dark. No damage estimate was available. Halton Hills Hydro also reported this week $5,400 in property damage that occurred back in December at its Acton location when two power regulators were smashed repeatedly with a blunt object.
