Senior killed crossing road

An elderly Georgetown man was killed while crossing the road in front of his 5 Sideroad home Monday afternoon. Dead is Hermann Vogt, 82, of Concession 6. Halton Police say at approximately 2:40 p.m. Vogt was hit by a westbound vehicle near the Fifth Line. Paramedics responded to the accident and when they arrived Vogt had no vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say weather conditions at the time of the incident were dry, clear and sunny.
