Flamingo Studio dancers selected for Footloose Extreme Team

Every year just keeps getting better! Flamingo Dance Studio 2006 Competitive Team students superseded their goals and awards far beyond last year. "I am so proud of all our dancers," said studio owner Dorri Bland, "The girls have improved so much over this past year." Competitive Team 2006 members are Jennifer Belcher, Paisley Snow, Lauren Peter, Brie Lirette, Danielle Nash, Alley Herder, Danielle Borden, Brianna Didone, Courtney Didone, Jordan Gaynor, Rachel Pollard, Chanel White, Angelynn Bland, Chelsea Frank, and Selena Borden. The girls competed at several competitions and far surpassed their goals and started the season off on a high note. Special congratulations to Angelynn Bland, Alley Herder, and Danielle Nash who were selected for the Footloose "Extreme Team". They now have a chance to travel, dance with worldrenowned choreographers and take workshops and classes for the best, with the best! "Ruby" Team competed in Jazz, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. They were awarded three Platinum, two High Gold, four Gold, first place on four separate occasions, second three times, and third twice! "Sapphire" Team competed in Jazz and Musical Theatre. The DANIELLE NASH girls had a wonderful first year dancing together, learning teamwork, commitment, and dedication. They were awarded two Dynamic Gold awards, two Gold, and two High Silver. The quartet also placed first and second twice. "Diamond" Duet competed in Jazz and Lyrical. Although both girls have trained extensively, this was the first year they danced together. They quickly became as one and danced among the very best. They received two Platinum awards, one Dynamic Gold, and three Gold. The duo placed first and second as well as a Third Overall Senior Duet Trophy. "Performance" members are Catherine Mesly, Cassandra Winkler, Nicole Pollard, Cheryl Buck, Chelsey Fedchenko, Hannah Jacobs, and Chloe Civiero. These girls have worked hard to continuously improve their technique and performance! They competed in Jazz, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. Hard work paid off; they received thre Gold awards, and three firsts. First time soloists "Performance" Team member Chelsey Fedchenko in her solo category proved to be quite a performer winning a "Diva-licious" Special Award and receiving three Gold awards and a first place standing in her Musical Theatre category. Lauren Peter competed with a Tap solo. She was awarded one Dynamic Gold, and two Gold medals along with second place in the 9-10 Tap solo division. Brie Lirette competed with an Acro solo. She received two Gold awards and one High Silver, and also received second place standings. Alley Herder competed with a Jazz solo. Along with being a selectee for Footloose's prestigious Extreme ALLEY HERDER Team, Alley received two Platinum, one Gold, and a first and second place. You would have not guessed that this was Alley's first year competing with a solo! Selena Borden, the youngest Flamingo competitor at the age of 5, was awarded one Platinum, one Dynamic Gold, three Gold, one High Silver, and four second place finishes. She also received a "Shining Star" Special Award. Her stage presence is a winning trait, her smile is contagious! Returning soloists Jordan Gaynor competed with a Musical Theatre solo. She received three Gold and a second and third place. Brianna Didone received one Platinum, one Gold and a first place standing in her 11-12 Lyrical category. With a 9-10 Jazz solo, Danielle Nash was awarded one High Gold, two Gold, and a second place finish. Danielle was also a selectee for Footloose's prestigious "Extreme Team". Angelynn Bland competed in Senior Open and Jazz categories. She received two Platinum, two Dynamic Gold, two Gold, two 1st and 2nd places! Angelynn also was awarded Special Awards for "Giant Jumps" and "Excellent Elevations". On top of having a successful competition season Angelynn was selected among hundreds of applicants to model in the upcoming Six-O Activewear catalogue. This catalogue features talented dancers modelling costumes, warm-up wear, and dance attire for the 2006-07 season. Congratulations! Completing her graduating dance season, Chelsea Frank was awarded two Platinum, two Dynamic Gold, one Gold, two first, and a second place. She also received Special Awards for "All Day Attitude" and "The 90's Club". Best of luck for your future dance career Chelsea. Duets/trios Competing in the Jazz 9-10 Duet category were Danielle Nash and Jordan Gaynor. They were awarded one Platinum, two High Silver, third, second, and first place respectively. The girls also received a Special Award for "Dance Clean Duo". Chanel White, Danielle Borden, and Courtney Didone competed with a Musical Theatre trio. They received two Platinum, one Dynamic Gold, two first, and one second place. Competing with a Jazz Trio, Brianna Didone, Alley Herder, and Rachel Pollard, received one Platinum, one Gold, one High Silver, and two second place standings.
