Car slams into retaining wall

A Georgetown man received minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when his 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis struck a retaining wall on Main St. S. at Park Ave. Police say the man, who was heading northbound on Main St., reported the accident occurred when he had to take evasive action after a vehicle pulled out in front of him from Park Ave. The man, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Georgetown Hospital by ambulance. The Mercury was destroyed and the retaining wall received extensive damage. A light standard was also damaged. Police are investigating the accident.
