Canadian Border Services contacted Halton police in October after discovering 210 grams of heroin, worth approximately $75,000, in a package that came from Uganda. The package had been imported into the country and was destined for a private mailbox at a retail shipping store in Oakville. The Halton Regional Police Service Drug, Gun and Gang Unit initiated an investigation and allowed the package to continue to the private mailbox where they monitored it. On Nov. 2, two Brampton men were arrested when they allegedly arrived at the store to retrieve the package. Rohan Thomas, 19, of Brampton, faces charges including importing heroin, trafficking heroin, uttering a forged document and using a counterfeit mark. Jordan Jones, 27, of Brampton, faces charges including importing heroin and possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking.
