Parenting video debuts, TIFF-style by Julia Le Oakville Beaver Staff 17 | Friday, October 16, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Establishing a stable, caring and enduring relationship during your child's early years is crucial to their development. That's the message of a new video short released recently by Our Kids Network (OKN). The effort premiered -- in a Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)-style fashion -- at Film.ca Cinemas on Speers Road. Families, sponsors and supporters gathered as Family Relationships Matter: The First Six Years went live on the silver screen. The special project features seven Halton families depicted carrying out five strategies central to positive child development through their everyday activities. Those tenets include: express care; challenge growth; provide support; share power; and expand possibilities. They were demonstrated through the interaction of the parents and their children in the four-minute video. "There are relatively few resources on this subject for families with infants and young children," said Elena DiBattista, OKN director. see Slow on p.18 everything you need to know about your Free Informational Health Session Featured Speaker: Dr. Sebastian Guarnaccia thyroid As a result of his commitment and dedication for the past 18 years, Dr Guarnaccia has enhanced the quality of 100's of individuals' lives and alleviated their chronic conditions naturally.
