"They were recognized for their great food when they first opened their doors and have maintained that deserving reputation for the last 25 years." Talking to various cus tomers throughout the restaurant, this seems to be the consensus on the Towne Restaurant. In short, fabulous food, great service, friendly atmosphere, and plenty o f parking! "The Town Restaurant is the type of restaurant you'd recommend to a friend and know they wouldn't be disappointed," commented one loyal customer, Rino Binaldi, who's been referring family and friends to the Towne Restaurant for 25 years. Celebrating 25 successful years recently, the Towne Restaurant took some time out to reflect on the past and look into the future. "Customer service has always been very important to us," explains Cathy Baxebanos, waitress and wife of Mike Baxebanos, co-owner of the Towne Restaurant. Cathy has been serving patrons of the Towne Restaurant since the first day, 25 years ago. Towne customers are cur rently treated to exceptional wservice from Cathy, Peter's wife Barbara, and Bibi and Paula. "We develop good relationships with our customers, we pride ourselves on being on a first-name basis with all of our regulars. And we know most of their orders before they open a menu!" And what a menu they offer. Using only the freshest, healthiest products available, the Towne Restaurant specializes in prime rib, seafood and steak. Towne regular Santo DeArcangelis says, and many customers concur, "Without fail, they serve the best ribs in town!" And co-owner Peter Koufidis takes pride in that. "The Towne Restaurant is my third restaurant. I opened one in Bolton, then in Hamilton, and then when my nephew Mike (Baxebanos) was old enough, we opened this one together in Oakville - back in 1976." And the rest is history, so to speak. The Towne Restaurant has steadily supported many groups and played host to many meetings over the years for a variety of community groups, including the Halton Regional Police, St. John's Ambulance, the United Way, and many others, as well as sponsoring various youth sports teams in town. They also help support the town by feeding them healthy, fresh food all the time! The Towne Restaurant serves a great start to any day with a fabulous breakfast with numerous scrumptious choices. They serve your traditional eggs and omelettes with bacon, ham or sausages, served at any time of the day. They have daily lunch specials which feature different soups, salads and sandwiches daily, as well as a main entree. Many regular customers have their personal favourites, so they'll give the waitress their business card and when that entree is the lunch special, they'll get a phone call. "We also get many customers who ask for specific dishes," says Peter. "Not necessarily on the menu, but we fill special orders all the time." The menu at this favourite local restaurant is designed for all crowds, satisfying all tastes and budgets. In addition to their Finger Foods section on the menu, Weight Watchers selection, and choices for children under 12, there is of course the mouthwatering steak entries, seafood entrees, ribs, pasta, burgers, and every possible sandwich you could want for. All prepared by the expert hands o f Peter and Mike, culinary geniuses within the walls of their spotlessly clean kitchen. "Every time the health board comes to inspect us, we get an exceptional rating," comments Peter. And walking through their kitchen it's really no wonder why. The floors are spotless, you can see your reflection in the stainless steel counters, even the bathrooms look great! And this is in the middle of the lunch rush! W hile the Towne Restaurant has a large dining area for the regular breakfast, lunch and dinner crowd, they also have separate rooms available for luncheon parties or business meetings. As seen in the photo below, they also have a beautifully decorated banquet hall that can seat up to 200 peo ple - perfect for weddings, banquets, or office parties. "I've been holding my office Christmas par ties here for 25 years now!" Commented Mario Paladino.
