Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at Central Branch, the library's Seniors' Series offers older adults an opportunity to gain information on topics relevant to them while providing a relaxed, social setting to meet new people and share ideas. Each hour-long session will feature an informative presentation by library staff or an expert guest speaker and include light snacks and refreshments. Topics include: running your own book club; estate and end-of-life planning; falls prevention; and researching family history. The session is free and no registration is required. The library will also be offering a workshop called Feet First for adults who are approaching retirement or looking to plan ahead. Participants will be taken through a mini-life review and exercises to build an action plan for retirement. Led by author Nora Zylstra-Savage, the workshop will assist participants in developing a meaningful plan for this next stage of life. It will be held Oct. 24 at the Central Branch Auditorium (10 a.m.-1 p.m.). There is a $20 cost and participants must register online via iris.
